We have scheduled this Field Trip to the Grand Central Station of the West.

DATE:
Friday, March 6, 2015
TIME:
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Tour and great networking!
PLACE:
Grand Central Station of the West
187 Beale Street, enter on Howard, between Beale and Main (near “What’s up Dawg!”)

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:  As a way of thanking our members, we are offering a Hard Hat tour “Field Trip” to the "Grand Central Station of the West!

The new Transbay Transit Center will replace the former Transbay Terminal in downtown San Francisco with a modern transit hub. Extending just south of Mission Street from Second to Beale streets, the Transit Center will connect eight Bay Area counties and the State of California through 11 transportation systems.

Webcor Builders will host us on a guided sidewalk tour of this incredible project. You have all undoubtedly seen the massive hole that’s been dug, enjoyed some extra time on your way out of the city (Sorry!) and even heard about the mammoth tooth that was found in 2012! So come on over and get a closer look at the project as it’s starting to take form above ground!

Please take note of the specific safety rules and attire requirement below:

Attire: For safety reasons, full-length pants are required on site. Guests wearing shorts, capris, skirts or dresses will not be allowed onto the construction site.

Shoes: If you are participating in the tour, you must wear the appropriate shoes. Shoes shall be close toed, should be leather with a defined heel such as walking shoes, hiking boots or work boots. For safety reasons, you may not participate in the tour if you are wearing open toed shoes, high heeled shoes or boots, sneakers, sandals, pumps, fashion boots, loafers or any other shoes that are not considered safe for walking on a construction site. We can accommodate those without proper footwear with a sidewalk tour and use the public overlook to view the site. See attached for examples of appropriate footwear.

Safety Equipment: If you are participating in the tour, we will provide you with a hardhat, safety vest and safety glasses before you go on site.

Great networking opportunity with your fellow chapter members.
